Eins - lernt man in dem Leben doch: entbehren,
und ganz gewiß - ob früher oder spät -
des jungen Herzens ungestümes Gähren
vergeht.
Dann sieht man tränenlos auf mancher Bahre,
lernt mählich Teures missen - und versteht,
daß auch der größte Schmerz im Lauf der Jahre
vergeht.
